Welcome Our 2022 Board

President: Michael Fisher - Former treasurer who has loved seeing the Niners grow over the years. It is a great pleasure to take over, as President, after many years of growth and leadership from Ryan Pabis. Looking forward to another great year of lacrosse with the best lacrosse families!

Vice President: Sean Cairns - After standing on the sidelines for youth baseball, basketball, football, soccer and lacrosse for 7 years as a father of a 10 and 12 year old son, I was presented with the opportunity to get more involved with the 79ers. I hope to bring a new perspective and anew energy to the organization as the board Vice-President. The 79ers have come a long way in a short time and I want to help grow the organization and build on the solid foundation that is currently in place.

Secretary: Rachel McBride -  I have been a part of the 79er family since 2018. I have watched the program transform from 3 teams to 8 teams in just under 3 years. My oldest and has been a part of the program over these past 3 years and now my younger is joining as well.  I recently choose to take a role as the secretary to help communicate with our families and continue to support lacrosse in the south western PA communities. Over the years I have taken on small roles here and there and felt it was time to make it official. Here's tomaking 2022 season great!

Treasurer: Danielle Magan - I have been in the banking and financial industry for over 17 years, and my husband thought it was a great fit.  We live in Peters township and my son goes to St. Louise de Marillac. My son Maxwell plays for the U12 79ers team, we have been a part of this organization for 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience. My husband, Coach Steve, played lacrosse in high school and fell in love with the sport. And of course as dads do they introduce their kids to the sports they love, hoping to find a bond. Well the bond has been sealed. My son Maxwell has had a lacrosse stick in his hand since he was 5. I new nothing about lacrosse until last year when I went to the first tournament in Philadelphia. And I too fell in love with the sport,  the organization and the parents, with whom new friendships were formed. The love and dedication these coaches and this organization have developed for these young men, in my opinion, is the best in its class. As a parent you want your child to learn how to win and lose and pick their teammates up when they fall and celebrate when they do well. I feel that my son has gotten all of this from the 79ers. I am looking forward to another great season of wins, loses and a lot of fun!

Fundraising Director: Janae Batchelor - Mom of three, two in high school, who are both Moon Lacrosse players, and on in college at Penn State.  I am also a middle school counselor with 21+ years of experience working with kids. My youngest, Alec, was invited to play in a tournament with the Pittsburgh 79ers in the fall of his 6th grade school year.  The rest is history.  He immediately felt at home.  We have enjoyed watching the program grow other the years and love the relationships we have built, not just on the field.  The amazing coaches have made him a better player on the field and better person off the field.  If you see a camera on the sidelines, I’m probably the one behind it!  Proud to be part of the Niners community and a member of the board.

Tournament Director: Dave Burgan - I am in my fourth year of involvement with the 79ers organization; my son is on the 2025 team. We are part of the 79ers family because of the coaches; commitment to teaching skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. I have coached travel/club teams for girls softball and boys basketball, and I understand the impact a club organization can have on more than just sports. I grew up in Baltimore, MD, where lacrosse is a way of life and I see nothing but opportunities for lacrosse in western Pennsylvania. My family has also been involved in Moon Area Lacrosse for six years. As Tournament Director, my goal is to find challenging opportunities for growth and competition.
