2023 Summer Travel Team

Thank you for your interest in the 79ers Lacrosse Club! Our program's mission is to grow the game of Western PA lacrosse by giving our players an opportunity to play year round. They will receive coaching from US Lacrosse certified coaches many of whom are past collegiate athletes and current college, high school or youth coaches. Be sure to check out our coaches bios! If you make the team that spot is yours until you graduate or choose to no longer player. Our program is a family, all teams (youth and high school) will attend one tournament together, we have organized team dinners and groups attending PLL games, and we end our summer season with a picnic celebration!

YOU PAY $25 TO REGISTER FOR A 90 MINUTE TRYOUT
WE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF YOU MADE THE TRAVEL TEAM OR NOT.
You have a choice to accept or decline
If you accept you will complete the registration and then you can choose a payment plan or lump sum.

A look at our travel program and what we offer...

The Pittsburgh 79ers are a developmental and competitive lacrosse club primarily serving Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. We are entering our 6th year and have expanded from 3 youth teams to currently fielding 8 teams beginning at 10U (2032) through 2023’s.

Our main goal is to educate and develop our players. From offering excellent coaching, a comprehensive training including strength and conditioning workouts, to hosting local scrimmages, selecting the best tournament destinations, and attaining turf practices. Our program mission is to improve our players, keep them playing year round, instilling confidence both on and off the field and creating friendships between teammates and coaches.

FALL 2022

- We plan to offer fall lacrosse for ages U10 up to our HS group

- 1 to 2 practices per week at North Strabane Township Park

- Travel team practice will be announced once we secure our fields/days/times/etc.

For those wanting to Travel in the Fall for an additional cost we offer

- All teams will attend the Pittsburgh Victory Fall Classic on Sunday October 16th

- We are planning for the 2027 and younger teams to attend the Canton Graveyard Tournament. For those that don't know this is a one day tournament

- We have not selected our high school tournament as we are waiting to see what the local HS teams are doing. It will most likely take place the 2nd or 3rd weekend in November. We are considering a weekend tournament that has a Saturday Showcase and Sunday Tournament.

SPRING 2023

- Youth: 1 practice per week in March/April/May

- High School: 1 practice per week in March/April and moves to 2 practices per week as playoffs end

SUMMER 2023

High School ( 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027)

Cost $1075 ($1000 for returning players with a uniform)
Supplemental Tryouts(Included in the No obligation $25 Tryout Fee and Free for Returning players)
Spring Practices: Sundays at North Strabane starting in April
Summer Practices: Tuesday/Thursdays/Saturdays starting at North Strabane Park the first week of June all practices will be on turf and 2 hours in length

Cost $775 ($700for returning players with a uniform)
Supplemental Tryouts(Included in the No obligation $25 Tryout Fee and Free for Returning players)
Spring Practices: Sundays at North Strabane starting in April
Summer Practices: Tuesday/Thursdays/Saturdays starting at North Strabane Park starting in June all practices will be on turf and 2 hours in length
2 Summer Tournaments

Elementary School (2030/2031/2032)

Cost $475 ($400 for returning players with a uniform)
Supplemental Tryouts & Skill Clinics (Included in the No obligation $25 Tryout Fee and Free for Returning players)
Spring Practices: Sundays at North Strabane starting in April
Summer Practices: Tuesday/Thursdays/Saturdays starting at North Strabane Park starting in June all practices will be on turf and 90 minutes in length
